BoatMover — a figure carrying a boat up a mountain

BoatMover — Your Own Pace

The rowing club app that scores the rower — not the boat, not the age, not the weather.

On iPhone / iPad: open this page in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with an arrow), then choose “Add to Home Screen”. The BoatMover icon appears like any other app.

Installs straight from this page — no app store needed.

What it is

One app for the whole club — on the water and off it.

BoatMover is built for real rowing clubs, and especially for masters rowing — where a 71-year-old sculler and a 34-year-old sweep rower share the same water and deserve a fair comparison.

Row with it

A live on-water HUD: speed, stroke rate, distance and splits, big enough to read mid-stroke, with your club's own hazard map and proximity alerts on screen.

Measure with it

Every session feeds your BoatMover Score — an honest measure of rowing ability that travels with you across boats, seasons and clubs.

Run the club with it

Roster, fleet and venue in one console, plus a regatta generator that builds fair, handicapped race days from your real membership.

Row with it

Onboard — the rowing HUD

Mount the phone on a rigger and row. Onboard shows your split, stroke rate and distance in numbers sized for open water and reading glasses left on shore — and behind them, your club's own hazard map. Drift toward the weir line or another crew's corridor and the screen tells you before your cox would. Sign in once with the ID and PIN your club gave you, tick “remember me”, and every session after that is just: launch, row.

The Score — one honest number

Most club comparisons quietly reward the newer boat, the younger crew, the calmer morning. The BoatMover Score corrects for what isn't you — boat class and age on World Rowing's own masters curves, weight, wind, water temperature and distance from the published sports science — and keeps what is. It weighs real on-water rowing far above the erg, and it's honest about its own confidence: where the data is thin, the score says so instead of pretending. It never punishes you for being away.

For clubs — one console, one admin

Found your club once and everything keys off it. One admin per club draws the home water — hazards, restricted zones, the rowable outline — and every member's app inherits the map automatically. The roster tracks age category to World Rowing rules and medical clearance, imports from a spreadsheet, and invites each rower by email with their own ID and PIN. When race day comes, the regatta generator builds entries, crews, heats and a printable schedule from the roster you already keep.
